MARGAO: An unidentified man, believed to be between 35 and 40 years old, was brought dead to South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, on September 3 after reportedly being found lying near Station Road in the Gandhi Market area.
Margao Town Police received a call from the casualty police at SGDH at around 11.47 am informing them that the man had been brought to the hospital by a 108 ambulance.
During the enquiry, police learnt that the deceased was reportedly a labourer and a chronic alcoholic who used to sleep on the footpaths in and around the Gandhi Market area.
Police conducted an inquest panchanama over the body, which has been preserved at SGDH Margao for further medico-legal formalities.
