CUNCOLIM: A resident of Khola, Canacona has been taken into custody by the Cuncolim police in relation to a sexual assault that occurred in Morpilla village in November of last year.
It has been alleged that the accused, Girish Alias Nilesh Velip, R/o Cola, Canacona, locked the victim inside her home by latching the door from the inside.
Additionally, it has been claimed that the accused stripped the complainant of her clothing, engaged in violent sexual activity with her, and threatened to harm her if she revealed it to anybody.
The accused was taken into custody during the course of the investigation.
JMFC Quepem has remanded him to three days of police prison. Sections 65(1), 127(2), 351(2) of the BNS, and section 8(2) of the Goa Children’s Act 2003 have been utilised by the Cuncolim police to book the accused.
