PANAJI: Panaji Police have registered a case against a former barber attached to the Goa Police Department for allegedly producing a fake educational certificate during his recruitment process.
According to the complaint lodged by Superintendent of Police (HQ) Dharmesh G. P. Angle, the accused Premanand Gurudas Majgaonkar, a former barber, allegedly prepared a forged Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) marksheet purportedly issued by the Chhattisgarh Madrasa Board.
The accused is alleged to have presented the fabricated marksheet as a genuine document before the Director General of Police, Police Headquarters, Panaji, to secure employment as a barber.
Based on the complaint, Panaji Police registered Crime No. 139/2025 under Sections 336(3) and 340 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023 for offences related to forgery and use of forged documents.
The investigation is being conducted by LPSI Rashmika Kavle.
