EW DELHI: At least one person was killed after multiple gunshots were fired inside a Burger King outlet in West Delhi’s Rajouri Garden on Tuesday evening, the police said.
Around 12-15 shots were fired, said police, adding that the assailants have not been identified yet as they fled the scene in a two-wheeler shortly after the firing incident.
The victim too is yet to be identified but he received multiple gunshot wounds in the attack that took place in the J Block area.
He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead, police said, adding that senior officials were at the spot.
According to PTI, the victim was accompanied to the outlet by someone who fled the scene when the firing started, an official said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer said, “An incident of firing, resulting in the death of a person, has been reported at Burger King in Rajouri Garden. Our officers are at the spot and more teams have been formed to collect information and check CCTV cameras for clues.”
Officers and the police’s crime team inspected the spot. Police teams have been formed to gather information.
Police were checking CCTV footage to identify the accused, the official added.
