COLVA: Colva Police busted an alleged online gambling racket during a late-night raid at Florida Garden, Vanelim, Colva, arresting four persons who were reportedly caught red-handed accepting illegal bets.
The कार्रवाई was carried out between 10:20 pm on April 25 and 1:00 am on April 26 based on a complaint filed by PSI Prashant Bhagat of Colva Police Station.
According to police, the accused — Praful alias Jiger Thakar, Dhaval, Jay Kamlesh Pattel (all natives of Gujarat), and Vishal Chawla (native of Haryana) — were operating from a closed premises in a common gaming house setup.
Investigations revealed that the accused were actively involved in accepting online bets and conducting computer-based gambling activities from within the premises.
During the raid, police seized two laptops, six mobile phones, and other materials linked to online gambling, collectively valued at approximately ₹3.10 lakh.
All four accused have been taken into custody, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Prashant Bhagat of Colva Police Station.
