PANAJI: Our Lady of Fatima SC Baida Chinchinnim emerged victorious in the 5th All Goa 8-a-side football tournament organized by the Davorlim Sports and Cultural Club, defeating Rebello Pandal Maina 5-3 in an exciting final held at the Laymati Football Ground in Davorlim. The match was played at a fast and attacking pace before a large crowd of spectators. Sherio Gomes was the star of the game, scoring a hat-trick for Chinchinnim, while Velrose contributed with two goals. For Rebello Pandal Maina, Jessel Carneiro scored a brace and Anslem Fernandes added another goal. Former Fisheries and Labour Minister Avertano Furtado graced the occasion as the chief guest and presented the prizes in the presence of dignitaries including Fr. Dominic Noronha, Vallab Varik, Atul Verlekar, Francisco Dias, Ravesh Sinde, Anthony Colaco, Niclau Fernandes, Samir Naik, Manuel Costa, and other club officials. Individual awards were also given out: Sherio Gomes was named the top scorer of the finals, Jessel Carneiro won the best half award, Delmon Rebello was named best defender, Anslem Fernandes took the best forward award, and Cylol Rebello was recognized as the best goalkeeper of the finals.
