CANACONA – A delegation of Palolem locals called on the Assistant Engineer of Canacona Electricity department to know the outcome of the concerns raised by the people on Thursday.
The delegation met AE Govind Bhat, and requested for updates of the follow-up the department tool on the memorandum submitted to the department last week.
Stating the frequent power failures are creating havoc in their electrical appliances, Palolem residents have informed besides had to suffer frequent blackout, their day-to-day life is badly effected, their businesses suffers losses and even the tourists going-away finding the frequent power outages irritant.
Palolem residnets stating the Electricity overhead alignment which is over 40 year old needs replacement, or in their place laying of underground cables, various old Transformers at Palolem needs upgradation or replacement, though Poles are erected, no street lights are put near a
Transforer at Ourem, besides another Transformer which is dangerously exposed, needs a Fencing and more importantly called for a permanent solution of the Fluctuating Voltage especially during April, May, due to which not even a Fan works, causing several inconveniences to people, particularly the aged one’s.
When residents sought response to the memorandum, AE Bhat, assured that he will try and fulfil all the demands as per convenience
