VASCO: Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho inspected the Vaddem Lake Visarjan site on Thursday evening to review safety, illumination, and cleanliness ahead of the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festival. This annual review is conducted to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the Visarjan activities.
Speaking to the media, Minister Godinho emphasized that Vaddem Lake is one of the most frequented Visarjan sites, attracting devotees not only from the Dabolim constituency but also from Vasco and Sada. “I visit this site every year before Ganesh Chaturthi to assess the safety and other necessary arrangements for a safe and smooth Visarjan process,” Godinho stated.
The Minister highlighted the measures being taken to enhance the safety and experience of the devotees during the Visarjan. These include the installation of bright lights to improve illumination and coordination with Drishti to station lifeguards at the site during the festival days. Additionally, Godinho mentioned that the lake area will be thoroughly cleaned, and any necessary painting work will be carried out to ensure the site is bright, clean, and fully prepared for the festivities.
“Vaddem Lake is preferred for Visarjan because of its safety and the systematic manner in which the immersion process is conducted here,” said Godinho, reaffirming his commitment to making this year’s Visarjan safe and efficient for all attendees.
