For the second consecutive year, Southwest monsoon has set a record for Goa as State witness 153.49 inches of rainfall till today; 35% surplus compared to the annual average of 113.86 inches for the period; in 2019 State total seasonal rainfall was 160 inches.
According to IMD, Squalls weather with wind speeds reaching 45-55 KMPH are likely to prevail along and off South Maharashtra-Goa coast.

Extremely Heavy Rainfall (Rainfall>20.5 cm in 24 hours) is very likely at one or two places over North & South Goa on September 21. Very Heavy Rainfall (Rainfall >11.5 cm in 24 hours) is very likely over North and South Goa on 21st and 22nd September.
The bulletin also states that rain bearing clouds are present over North Goa district. Panaji and most places over North Goa & South Goa districts are very likely to experience moderate rainfall spells during next 4 hours.
“Intense spells are very likely at times for short intervals. Rain is very likely to be accompanied with winds of speed 35-45kmph over North Goa and South Goa districts. Isolated locations and ghats may receive prolonged spells of rains.” the weather forecast by IMD states.
