PANAJI: After a long absence from Congress House, former Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Amit Patkar on Wednesday made a brief visit to the party headquarters, triggering speculation over his equation with the state leadership.
Patkar, however, maintained that the visit was purely official, saying he had come only to submit Congress-related documents and complete pending party formalities.
Amid the buzz surrounding his appearance, Goa Congress in-charge Manikrao Thakare dismissed any talk of differences, asserting that Patkar continues to be an important Congress leader.
“There is no conflict between us. Amit Patkar is with the Congress and is welcome to meet me anytime. There is no need to read anything into this meeting,” Thakare said, seeking to put an end to speculation over internal differences within the party.
