TISK: Valpoi Police have registered a case against a bus driver for allegedly driving rashly and negligently and knocking down a pedestrian at Tisk, Honda, in Sattari.
The incident occurred on September 4 at around 5.30 pm near SBI Bank, Tisk. According to the complaint, accused driver Sankesh Bharat Pednekar, a resident of Dabelwada, Sankhalim, was driving a bus bearing registration number GA-05-T-6435 from Honda towards Sankhalim.
Police said the driver allegedly drove the bus in a rash and negligent manner without taking proper care and caution, thereby endangering human life. When the bus reached near SBI Bank, Tisk, it allegedly hit a pedestrian, identified as 35-year-old Shaila Sawant.
Shaila, originally from Upper Harvelem, Sankhalim, and presently residing at Narayan Nagar, Honda, sustained grievous injuries to her right leg in the accident.
The case was registered on September 7 at 9.42 pm following a complaint by ASI Raghunath Gawas of Valpoi Police Station in connection with Motor Vehicle accident enquiry No. 36/2026 dated September 5.
Further investigation is in progress under ASI Raghunath Gawas of Valpoi Police Station.
