MOBOR: An unidentified man, believed to be between 25 and 30 years old, was found dead at Mobor Beach in Cavelossim on September 7.
According to police, a phone call was received at around 4.04 pm from ASI Krishna Velip of Betul Coastal Police Station, informing that a body was lying on the seashore at Mobor Beach.
Police personnel who visited the spot found the body of an unidentified male lying on the shore. The deceased was wearing a black half-sleeve T-shirt with the word “DREAMS” printed on it and blue-and-white shorts. A blue ribbon was tied around his right wrist, while a steel ring was found in his left ear. Police also noted a tattoo bearing the name “SAHIL” on his right wrist.
During the inquiry, Punu Velip of Drishti Lifesavers informed police that at around 12.15 pm, he received information from a lifeguard about a person floating in the sea at Mobor Beach.
He, along with other lifeguards, rushed to the spot and brought the person to the seashore. The man was found unresponsive.
Police conducted an inquest panchnama and scene-of-occurrence panchnama before shifting the body to South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, where it was preserved for further medico-legal formalities.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.
Further inquiry is being conducted by PSI Prathamesh Mahale of Colva Police Station.
