PERNEM: Pernem Police have arrested a 26-year-old man after allegedly catching him with 93.52 grams of a blackish semi-liquid substance suspected to be hashish oil during a narcotics raid at Chonwada, Dhargal.
According to the state complaint filed by PSI Vivek H. Halarnkar of Pernem Police Station, the raid was conducted on August 19 between 3.10 pm and 7.05 pm near a banyan tree on the service road of NH-66, close to Kaloji Wine Stores.
The accused has been identified as Nagraj S/o Virappan alias Hirappa Badrapur, a resident of Bhutwadi, Virnoda, Pernem.
Police said the suspected hashish oil, weighing 93.52 grams and valued at approximately ₹1 lakh, was allegedly concealed in the dickey of his Yamaha Fascino scooter bearing registration number GA-11-J-9348.
The accused was arrested at around 9.37 pm on August 19 and is currently kept in the police station lock-up.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Vivek H. Halarnkar of Pernem Police Station.
