PORVORIM: Allegations of police high-handedness have emerged from a restaurant in Porvorim following a dispute over an allegedly inflated food bill.
According to allegations, two men identified as a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) and a Head Constable allegedly returned to the restaurant late at night after an earlier argument over the bill.
The two men allegedly abused and threatened restaurant staff in the presence of customers, including children, during the incident.
The incident was reportedly captured on CCTV cameras installed at the restaurant. According to the allegations, the footage shows the two men behaving aggressively and allegedly appearing to be under the influence of alcohol.
The allegations have raised questions over the conduct of police personnel and their behaviour towards members of the public.
Authorities are expected to verify the CCTV footage and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. If the allegations are found to be true, appropriate action may be warranted against those involved.
