PORVORIM: Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte on Tuesday reviewed the restoration work at the historic Pomburpa Spring and directed officials to complete the project before August 15, 2026.
Khaunte conducted an inspection of the restoration site in the presence of Aldona MLA Carlos Álvares Ferreira and officials of the concerned department.
During the visit, the Tourism Minister assessed the progress of the restoration works, reviewed the pace of execution, and interacted with officials regarding the status of the project.
He instructed the department to ensure that the restoration is completed within the stipulated timeline so that the heritage site is ready before Independence Day.
Khaunte also stressed that the restoration should be carried out with utmost care to preserve the antique and heritage character of the spring. He directed officials to retain the site’s original architectural aesthetics and historical significance while improving the location for visitors.
