PONDA: Ponda police detected a theft case from the ATM of SBI Khandepar on 10 March early morning wherein the accused came for theft of an ATM Machine had mistakenly uprooted a passbook Printer Machine worth Rs 1.50 lakh and later carried on Khandepar bridge flyover had damaged hoping for cash.
The incident shocked the locals. The CCTV revealed accused had made entry into the ATM cabin, covering their face with shirts and uprooted the machine.
In this connection, the Ponda police arrested Gautam Kumar s/o Ranjan Kumar Ray, age 29 yrs, Par wado, behind Chowgule workshop, Khandepar Goa n/o ward No. 07 Fazilpur Begusarai Bihar, arrested in printer theft case from ATM of SBI Khandepar on 9 March midnight.
SBI Khandepar Branch Official had filed a Police case about unknown culprits effected an entry into ATM Machine premises and committed theft of the printer by the damaging passbook printing machine, all w/Rs 1.50 lakhs approx. On 10 March at 3.30 am
In this connection, an offence vides Ponda Police Station Crime No: 54/2023 u/s 427,380 of IPC stands registered.
During the investigation, based on CCTV footage and intelligence collected from in and around the scene and it was revealed that the person who committed the theft of the Printer machine was traced over his description, body language, style of walking, height and from his Chapple (footwear) the suspicious person was traced behind Chowgule workshop, Khandepar Ponda and upon interrogation he confessed the commission of crime & disclosed his name as Mr Gautam Kumar s/o Ranjan Kumar Ray. Police had recovered the printer and other items w/Rs. 1,50,000/- approx.
The present case is successfully detected by Shri. Vijaykumar Chodankar, PI Ponda Police Station, under the supervision of SDPO/DySP Shri. Ashish Shirodkar and PSI Aditya Velip, HC Kedar Jalmi and PC Aditya Naik.
