PERNEM: A 30-year-old man was allegedly assaulted and stabbed with a broken beer bottle at Poroscodem, Pernem, following a dispute linked to previous enmity.
According to the complaint filed by Atmaram Arondekar, 33, on August 20, the incident occurred around 11.30 pm on August 19 near Ruchik Bar and Restaurant, Poroscodem.
The accused, identified as Gitesh Korgaonkar of Poroscodem, allegedly abused the complainant’s brother, Shubham Arondekar, with filthy language before assaulting him with a beer bottle on his head and other parts of the body.
The accused allegedly then stabbed Shubham on the neck with a sharp-edged broken beer bottle, causing serious bleeding injuries. He also allegedly threatened to kill the victim over previous enmity.
The complaint was registered at Pernem Police Station at around 4.33 pm on August 20. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Tukaram J. Chodankar of Pernem Police Station.
