Porvorim: Salvador-do-Mundo-based farmer Narinder Chatim has accused local panch member Agnel Fernandes alias Agno Fernandes for threatening him and also his farm labour without any provocation. The police complaint mentions that the panch has threatened to kill both of them.
Chatim has addressed complaint to Superintendent of Police (North) and Porvorim Police Inspector, which is the second complaint since June 2021.
The complainant has accused panch member of harassing, mentally torturing and threatening him and his power tiller operator Ramu Naik.
Chatin is a heart patient and has undergone bypass surgery.
“I had filed complaint against Agnel Fernandes on June 18, 2021 for harassing me and my Power Tiller Operator and threatening to kill us by chopping our legs with an axe,” the complaint reads.
The accused is a panch member from ward number 9 of Salvaor do Mundo panchayat. The complaint has alleged that the police were not acting on his complaint as he holds a position in the panchayat.
Chatim has said that his farm worker has been constantly harassed too by not allowing him to use the farming machine.
“I am a heart patient with a family to feed and I have been repeatedly begging to the Porvorim Police Station to take action on the complaints brought out against Agnel Fernandes. However, they are not taking any action,” he said.
Ango is not allowing me to use or carry out my farming activities without which I will not be able to feed my family, he said adding that on the contrary, he is abusing us and threatening to kill us, if we start the work.
“He claims that you can complaint to whomever you want, even the police,no one can do anything to me. And also claims that the police is in my pocket, which means that he has no fear of police or the law,” the complaint adds.
Chatim has said that during the covid19 he has been struggling to feed his family through farming activities but that too has been hindered due to act of the panch member.
“Therefore, if anything happen to me then Agnel Fernandes and the inaction of the Porvorim Police is to be blamed,” the complaint mentions.
