PORVORIM: A 35-year-old man was found hanging in the balcony of a residential flat at Green Hill, Alto Porvorim, in the early hours of Thursday, in a case being treated as unnatural death by police.
The deceased, identified as Siddhesh Pradip Shirsat, originally from Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, was residing with his wife at flat no. CN0032 in CP Manohar Building for the past few days.
Police said the incident came to light after the victim’s wife, Poornima Shirsat, discovered him hanging from the balcony ceiling using a nylon rope around 8:30 am. She had reportedly last seen him alive around 3:30 am after they had their meal and gone to sleep.
PSI Arun Shirodkar and Porvorim police staff reached the spot after receiving information and conducted an inquest panchanama. The body has been preserved at GMC mortuary for post-mortem examination.
Further investigation is in progress to ascertain the exact circumstances behind the death.
