CANACONA – The incessant and torrential pre-monsoon rains with intermittent cyclonic winds caused heavy losses to electricity alignments since the beginning of this week.
Around 22 Electricity poles and as many alignments were damaged in Canacona over the past few days have caused causing losses to the Power Department worth around Six lakh Seventy thousand rupees, informed Canacona Assistant Engineer (Electricity) Govind Bhat.
The electricity alignments in Amone and Katiebhag (Poinguinim), Agonda, Colomb, Patnem, and Palolem (in municipal areas), where mud fell came on power lines, breaking power lines and poles. In Khotigao, trees fell on power lines, damaging power poles and alignments.
