PANAJI: In a heart-stopping finale, Raia Sporting Club edged past Margao SC with a 7-6 victory in a tiebreaker, advancing to the semifinals of the 1st Vauradencho Ixtt Trophy 2025. This intense match, marked by multiple goals and a nail-biting tiebreaker, showcased the skill and determination of both teams. Key players Garrison Fernandes and Silviano Oliveira played crucial roles in Raia Sporting Club’s triumph.
The match, held at the DSYA ground in Curtorim on Friday, was part of the 1st Vauradencho Ixtt Trophy 2025, organized by Batora United Club in association with Margao Sports Club. Raia Sporting Club took an early lead when Garrison Fernandes scored the first goal in the 10th minute. However, Margao SC quickly responded, with Serenio Fernandes equalizing the score in the 34th minute.
The second half saw Raia Sporting Club regain the lead through Silviano Oliveira’s goal in the 48th minute. Yet, Margao SC’s Roque Borges swiftly leveled the score, making it 2-2 by the end of regulation time. The match then proceeded to a tiebreaker, where Raia Sporting Club demonstrated superior shooting skills, securing a 7-6 win.
The Man of the Match award was presented to Jack Meideira of Raia Sporting Club by distinguished guests Alex Dias, Andrew Barretto, Prashant Damskar, Francis Fernandes, and Vincent Fernandes. This victory marks a significant milestone for Raia Sporting Club as they move forward in the tournament.
