PANAJI: Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane urged the BJP government to speed up recruitment for nearly 22,000 vacant government posts, describing Chief Minister Pramod Sawant as a “magician” capable of completing the process before the 2027 Assembly elections.
Speaking at a public function, Rane said employment generation for youth should remain one of the government’s key priorities and stressed that today’s younger generation expects policies aligned with their aspirations and concerns.
“We should fill the 22,000 government vacancies before the upcoming elections and provide opportunities to the youth,” Rane said, expressing confidence that the BJP government would continue to enjoy public support through youth-focused initiatives.
Responding to the remarks, Chief Minister Sawant said the government had already filled around 2,500 posts through the Staff Selection Commission and assured that more appointments would be made through SSC and the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation.
Sawant also requested ministers to provide details of vacancies in their respective departments to help accelerate the recruitment process.
“Till now, we have filled 2,500 vacancies through SSC. Many more vacancies will be filled through SSC and GHRDC. Minister Vishwajit Rane should also provide details of vacant posts in his departments,” the Chief Minister said.
The exchange highlighted the government’s focus on employment generation ahead of the 2027 elections, with both leaders emphasising the need to create more opportunities for Goan youth through transparent recruitment processes.
