*Traffic cell booked a total 41058 cases from January to Nov. Recovers fine of Rs 1.61 Crore
*Despite fine of Rs 1000 helmet less driving continues in Ponda

PONDA: While enforcing the traffic rules for road safety the Ponda Traffic Police booked around total 41058 cases for various traffic violations from January to November and recovered a fine of Rs 1.61 Crore.
Ponda Traffic PI Krishna Sinhari, when asked what are the main reasons for accident for rising accidents on roads including fatals he said rash and negligent driving is the main cause of accidents , beside faulty road engineering , not obeying traffic rules, etc are other causes.
He said among the total 41058 cases the cases booked for overspeeding are 1797 , Alcohol 142 , Using mobile phone while driving 103 , Dangerous driving 155 , Without helmet 5926 , dangerous parking on Highways including trucks 6610 and other violations.
He said after fatal accidents not only person dies but many injured lives life with permanent disabilities and so everyone need to have self control and safe driving and also obey rules for safety of others.
He said to create awareness traffic Polic delivers lectures in schools , Industries , truck driver and Rickshawas etc for safe driving . So far 6575 lectures are delivered by team of traffic Police ,
Goa Road Safety Forum President Dilip Naik said Government need to improvise the dangerous sharp curves on Ponda Highways to prevent accidents . .
