SANGOLDA: A road accident near the football ground at Sangolda in Bardez left four people injured after a Honda Activa allegedly collided with an oncoming Royal Enfield motorcycle.
According to the complaint filed by HC 5280 Sudesh R. Mapari, the incident occurred on August 30, 2026, at around 7.27 pm near the football ground at Sangolda.
Police said Kumar, 38, a resident of Sangolda, was riding a Honda Activa bearing registration number GA-03-AX-5098 from Guirim towards Saligao. On reaching the accident spot, he allegedly took a sudden right turn towards an internal road leading to Saligao without giving an indicator.
The scooter subsequently collided with an oncoming Royal Enfield motorcycle ridden by 20-year-old Azan Shaikh of Merces, who was travelling from Sangolda towards Guirim.
The collision resulted in bodily injuries to both riders and their respective pillion riders.
Police have registered a case in connection with the incident, and further investigation is being carried out by HC 5280 Sudesh R. Mapari.
