OLD GOA: A 28-year-old scooter rider has been booked by Old Goa Police for allegedly riding in a rash and negligent manner, resulting in an accident that left another rider injured at Chimbel Flyover on NH-748 in Tiswadi.
According to the police, the accident occurred on July 3 at around 8.30 pm. The accused, identified as Nagraj Shivappa Jamadar of Corlim, was riding an Activa scooter from Old Goa towards Panaji. On reaching Chimbel Flyover, he allegedly swerved suddenly into the left-side two-wheeler lane and collided with another Activa 125 scooter ridden by Satish Vishant Khot, 42, a resident of Merces.
The impact caused Satish Khot to fall onto the road along with his scooter, resulting in injuries. He is currently undergoing treatment in Ward No. 120 at Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim.
Based on a complaint filed by Head Constable Yogesh Palni, Old Goa Police registered Crime No. 93/2026 on July 6 under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Further investigation is being carried out by Head Constable Yogesh Palni.
