New Delhi: England captain Harry Kane has delivered a confident message ahead of his team’s crucial FIFA World Cup semifinal against defending champions Argentina, declaring that the Three Lions are fully prepared for one of the biggest matches of the tournament.
Kane shared a series of photographs from England’s final training session on social media, accompanied by the message, “Ready to give it our all.” His post reflected the squad’s determination as they gear up for the high pressure encounter, with a place in the World Cup final at stake.
The semifinal winner will earn the chance to face Spain, who secured their place in the title clash after defeating France 2 0 in the first semifinal.
England have also received a major boost with midfielder Declan Rice declared fit and available for selection after recovering from illness. Rice had been struggling with a stomach problem since England’s Round of 16 match in Mexico City, leaving him bedridden for three days before the quarterfinal against Norway.
The demanding weather conditions in Miami, where temperatures felt close to 44 degrees Celsius, forced England’s medical staff to carefully manage Rice’s workload. He was substituted at halftime during the dramatic extra time victory over Norway after showing signs of exhaustion.
England manager Thomas Tuchel explained that although Rice wanted to remain on the field, the coaching staff decided to replace him to ensure the team had enough fresh players available if the match extended into extra time. The tactical decision ultimately proved effective as England successfully navigated the remainder of the contest.
Rice has since made a full recovery and completed a full training session with the squad, giving Tuchel another important option ahead of the semifinal in Atlanta.
