PANAJI: Panaji Police have registered a case against a hotel receptionist for allegedly stealing ₹80,000 in cash and a wrist watch from the cash counter of Coastal Pearl Hotel at Miramar, Panaji.
According to the complaint filed by Sunil Amonkar, an official of Coastal Pearl Hotel, the theft allegedly took place at around 3:57 am on August 21, 2026. The accused has been identified as Neeraj S/o Gangaram, a resident of Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, who was employed as a receptionist at the hotel.
Police said the accused had access to the property of his employer and allegedly dishonestly removed the cash and wrist watch from the hotel’s cash counter.
The complaint was lodged on August 24 at around 8:58 pm. Further investigation is in progress and is being conducted by Head Constable 5717 Babu Madanwar of Panaji Police Station.
