SALIGAO: Saligao Police have registered an Unnatural Death (UD) case after an unidentified male body was found floating in water near Dhadeshwar Temple, Nerul, Bardez.
According to police, they received a phone call from Mr. Dasharath Kalangutkar, resident of Nerul, informing about a body floating in the water body behind the temple area. The deceased is estimated to be a male aged between 45 and 50 years.
Police and local residents subsequently fished out the body from the water. All necessary legal formalities were carried out at the spot by the responding team.
In this connection, Saligao Police have registered UD No. 23/26 under Section 194 of the BNSS. The body has been shifted to the GMC Bambolim morgue for preservation, identification, and post-mortem examination.
A wireless message was also flashed to PCR Panaji, Porvorim, and senior officers regarding the incident. Further inquiry is in progress under the supervision of PI Saligao Police Station.
