CURCHOREM: Sangini, a new initiative aimed at promoting women’s empowerment, dignity, wellbeing and financial independence, will be launched on November 3, 2026, at 4 pm at Ravindra Bhavan, Curchorem.
The initiative, spearheaded by Smt. Arti Patkar and supported by Shri Amit Patkar, seeks to provide women with a common platform to raise their concerns, access support and participate in programmes aimed at improving their lives.
Announcing the initiative, Arti Patkar said Sangini would provide a more organised platform for her ongoing work in social welfare and women’s welfare, with an emphasis on sustained engagement and greater participation by women in shaping activities according to their needs.
Guided by the message “Bayle Khatir, Bayle Vangda” and the commitment “Where every woman is heard, supported and empowered”, the platform aims to create an inclusive space where women can openly discuss their concerns, seek guidance and explore opportunities.
Patkar said the initiative would focus on women’s physical and mental wellbeing through health awareness programmes, medical camps and guidance from qualified professionals. It would also work towards promoting skills development, digital literacy, employment opportunities and small-scale entrepreneurship.
Emphasising the importance of financial independence, she said women who wished to start earning, develop their talents or resume their careers after years of family responsibilities should receive encouragement and access to opportunities.
The initiative also plans to undertake safety awareness programmes, self-defence activities and connect women with appropriate support services. It will provide guidance on government welfare schemes, eligibility criteria and application procedures to help women access available benefits.
Apart from welfare and economic empowerment, Sangini will focus on cultural and creative activities, providing women opportunities to showcase their talents, celebrate local traditions and build friendships.
The launch programme will include the commencement of a membership drive, interaction with prominent women from Goa and recognition of women achievers for their accomplishments and contributions.
The organisers will also share Sangini’s upcoming programme calendar and invite suggestions from participants on issues and activities that should receive priority.
Patkar said the initiative would go beyond a formal launch and focus on consistent engagement, practical programmes and building trust among women through continued efforts.
She also acknowledged the support of Amit Patkar and reiterated her commitment to creating opportunities for women to express themselves, pursue their aspirations and make independent choices.
Women from across the region have been invited to attend the launch programme at Ravindra Bhavan, Curchorem, and become part of the initiative.
