PANAJI: Minister for Fisheries Nilkanth Halarnkar today informed that his department will be soon going online for all types of schemes and services.
“Department of Fisheries will be soon going online for all types of schemes and services. People should come forward to harvesting freshwater fishing through cage culture in a technical way,” said Halarnkar
He further said that People should come forward to harvest freshwater fishing through cage culture in a technical way and intends to promote freshwater fishing to increase fish production and to fulfil the demand for fish in the State.
He further said that stocking fingerlings are the mainstay of reservoir fisheries development, which will facilitate fish production on a sustainable basis.
“Auto stocking is not possible and requires a regular stocking programme to use the productive potential of the water body,” he said.
The Minister also acquainted himself with the Ornamental fish productivity cultivated in the farm and directed to keep and sell more ornamental fish.
Goa has been sanctioned Rs 400 crore by the Central government for setting up of cage fishing infrastructure to boost the coastal state’s fishing catch output, Fisheries Minister Nilkanth Halarnkar said on Wednesday.
He also said that the government was considering providing life insurance to registered fisherfolk in Goa, in order to cover the risks which come along with the sea-fishing profession.
