PANAJI: Senior officers of Goa government today visited the families of Goan students stranded in Ukraine, at their respective residences and assured full support and help in bringing their children back at the earliest.
“We have visited the families of Goan students stranded in Ukraine, at their respective residences; all of them were assured of full help and support in bringing our children back at the earliest under Operation Ganga launched by Govt of India,” the officials said
An advisory has been issued to Indians in Kyiv stating that all Indian nationals including stidents are advised to leave Kyiv urgently today, preferably by available trains or through any other means available.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has sought intervention of Union Minister for External Affairs Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar for safe return of Goans.
“We are concerned about the Goans in Ukraine who are considering returning to India in the light of ongoing Russia-Ukraine crisis,” Sawant tweeted.
“I request Union Minister for External Affairs Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar to help in the safe return of Goans,” he tweeted further adding that he is keeping track of the situation.
Several Goans in Ukraine are in touch with the NRI Commission as they are anxious to temporarily return till the situation normalises.
