PONDA: A 36-year-old man from Shiroda, identified as Nushish Naik, succumbed to injuries sustained in a self-accident that occurred at Khandepar.
The incident came to light after casualty police at Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim, informed authorities of the patient’s death in Ward No. 108.
According to police, the deceased was initially shifted to the Sub District Hospital in Ponda following the accident and was later referred to GMC Bambolim for further treatment. However, he passed away while undergoing medical care.
An inquest panchanama was conducted, and a post-mortem examination was carried out. The police surgeon opined that the cause of death was “cranio-cerebral damage consequent to blunt force impact by surface and/or object.”
Following the examination, the body was handed over to the family for final rites.
The enquiry is being carried out by PSI Sushant Gaonkar of Ponda Police Station.
