CANACONA: A delegation of Mahajans of Shree Mallikarjun Devasthan, Avem-Khotigao, along with members of the temple committee, met Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and Goa BJP President Damu Naik to seek intervention following the cancellation of the work order issued for the temple’s beautification and renovation.
The delegation submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister requesting the early resumption of the development project. Dr. Sawant assured the Mahajans that he would personally review the matter, expedite the process, and ensure that the development work begins at the earliest.
The Mahajans expressed confidence in the Chief Minister’s commitment to preserving the temple and safeguarding the interests of devotees.
The delegation also met Goa BJP President Damu Naik and submitted a separate memorandum seeking his support for the timely commencement of the temple development project.
After hearing the delegation, Naik assured them of his full support in expediting the process. He also appreciated the efforts of Art and Culture Minister and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar for taking the Shree Mallikarjun Devasthan development project from the planning stage to the verge of execution.
Naik said procedural hurdles are sometimes unavoidable in major public projects and should be viewed as part of the process. Expressing confidence in Minister Tawadkar’s leadership and continued follow-up, he assured the Mahajans that every effort would be made to move the project forward and ensure the work starts at the earliest.
