SIRIDAO: A 65-year-old man was allegedly assaulted with a gardening iron hoe at Palem, Siridao, on August 20, leaving him with a head injury requiring eight stitches.
According to the complaint filed by Anant Kankonkar, 65, a resident of Palem, the incident occurred around 7.25 pm near House No. 465/1 at Palem, Siridao.
The accused has been identified as Kashinath Shirvoikar, 49, a resident of Palem, Siridao.
The complainant alleged that Kashinath attacked him from behind with an old, heavily rusted gardening iron hoe, striking him on the head and causing injuries.
The injured man was taken to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, where he received medical treatment and eight stitches before being discharged.
Further investigation is being conducted by HC-6532 Uday Palkar of Agacaim Police Station.
