PANAJI: In a significant development in the Mapusa dacoity case, the Crime Branch has brought the sixth accused, Mohammad Nazir, a Bangladeshi national, to Goa after securing a transfer warrant from the Court of the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC), Mapusa.
The accused, who is allegedly involved in Mapusa Police Station Crime No. 133/2025, was produced before the JMFC, Mapusa, and has been remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody.
Crime Branch officials said five other Bangladeshi nationals linked to the Dona Paula dacoity case had already been brought to Goa earlier. With Nazir’s arrival, all six accused in the case are now in the custody of Goa authorities.
The accused were arrested during a coordinated operation by the Delhi Police Crime Branch based on intelligence inputs shared by Goa Police.
