PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that the Smart City meeting has resolved to complete all pending works before June 15.
CM Sawant today held a review meeting with Smart City Officials, Contractors and Head of Departments on the progress of smart work.
“We have resolved to complete all works before June 15. The work on smart cities did not go as planned. Now contractors will work 24×7, that is three shifts daily to complete works,” said Sawant.
He further said that IAS Sanjit Rodrigues knows the pulse of Panaji and hence has been brought as CEO and MD of Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Ltd.
“He has worked with CCP and also Amrut mission, and he knows the pulse of the Panaji,” he added
Sawant assured me he would hold meetings with the contractors involved and draw up schedules for the speedy restoration of roads and drains.
“I will look into it from now. I will discuss it with the contractors and get them to speed up the work,” Sawant said.
He said that ten odd different agencies, including Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSDL), Sewerage and Infrastructural Development Corporation of Goa Limited (SIDCGL), Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA).
Also, Public Works Department (PWD) and the Water Resource Department (WRD) are executing different works under the Smart City Mission in the capital city.
“Smart City works are being carried out by many agencies. One or two agencies might be slow in the execution. Smart City Mission doesn’t directly execute the works on its own, it is done through different agencies,” Sawant said.
