Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that the government is working towards enlisting the services of trained para-medical caregivers who will be available to provide assistance to inpatients across various government hospitals.
According to Rane, these services will be offered at fixed and subsidized rates, ensuring affordability while also maintaining a standard of care.
Finding qualified carers can be difficult for families of patients receiving therapy, surgery, or any other medical intervention, leaving them feeling stressed and overburdened.
“In order to get assistance, many have had to rely on pricey private organisations or unofficial networks, frequently with little warning and little assurance of high-quality support,” said Rane
In addition to helping families, Rane said that the government’s plan to formalise and regulate these caregiving services will close a long-standing gap in Goa’s healthcare system
This program might greatly enhance patient care, lessen the strain on family members, and generate job opportunities for qualified healthcare professionals in light of the growing need for professional caring.
“If the plan is implemented properly, it could establish a new benchmark for patient support services in government hospitals, improving Goan citizens’ access to and efficiency of healthcare.” He added
Rane also said that he engaged with people benefiting from free health check-ups and screenings.
“Their concerns, hopes, and trust in public healthcare reaffirm our commitment to strengthening medical services across Goa,’ he added
Meanwhile, Health Minister also assured them that our efforts to enhance Goa’s healthcare system are in full swing and that we remain dedicated to providing affordable and efficient healthcare.
