MARGAO: The First Level Checking (FLC) of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines for the forthcoming 2027 Goa Legislative Assembly elections will be conducted in South Goa from August 17 to August 31, 2026.
According to a press note issued by South Goa Collector and District Election Officer Egna Cleetus, the FLC will be carried out at the first floor of the Old Collectorate Building, opposite MMC Garden, Margao, under the supervision of concerned officials and in accordance with guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India.
During the exercise, EVMs and VVPAT machines will undergo prescribed technical checks and verification by authorised engineers and technical personnel in the presence of representatives of recognised political parties.
All recognised political parties are being informed separately about the FLC schedule and have been requested to depute their authorised representatives to remain present during the process.
The FLC is a preparatory exercise aimed at ensuring the proper functioning and readiness of EVMs and VVPATs ahead of their deployment for the 2027 Goa Assembly elections.
The exercise will be conducted under the supervision of the election authorities and as per the procedures laid down by the Election Commission of India.
