MARGAO: A special enforcement drive was carried out by the Margao Police from Bank of India Junction to Railway Station Circle, Aquem, following instructions from PWD Minister and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat.
Led by the Police Inspector, the operation resulted in around 30 individuals, including suspected persons, beggars and unauthorized vegetable vendors occupying public spaces, being rounded up. The drive was aimed at improving public safety, maintaining law and order, and ensuring smoother movement for pedestrians and commuters.
Digambar Kamat stressed the need for sustained action to keep public places safe, clean and free from encroachments and activities that inconvenience citizens. He has directed the Margao Police to continue such enforcement drives on a daily basis to maintain order and improve the town’s civic environment.
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to make Margao cleaner, safer and more organized for residents and visitors alike.
