PANAJI: Defending Champions St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa won the Women’s, while Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda won the Men’s Basketball Championship 2023-24, organized by Goa University at Manohar Parrikar Indore Stadium, Navelim held from 16th to 18th January 2024.
In the well contested Men’s championship finals, Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda defeated St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa with a final score of 49-46.
In the Women’s championship finals, St. Xavier’s College defeated Don Bosco College, Panjim with a margin of 42-26.
Earlier in the semifinals of the Women’s Section Don Bosco College, Panjim defeated S.S. Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, Cujira with a score of 23-14 and St. Xavier’s College defeated V. M. Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar with a score of 31-02.
In the Men’s semifinals, Don Bosco College of Engineering Fatorda defeated Goa Medical College Bambolim with a score of 52-29. St. Xavier’s College defeated S. S. Dempo College with a margin of 50-40
Best Player Men was awarded to Aaryan Raut of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, and Best Player Women was bagged by Sejal Kudnekar of St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa.
Presentation ceremony Chief Guest Dr. Maria Simoes, Officiating Principal, Kare College of Law, Margao along with Mr. Balachandra B. Jadar, Asst. Director of Physical Education and Sports, Goa University presented medals and trophies to the winners and runners-ups.
