PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant attended the Alumni Meet 2022 of Shree Rayeshwar Institute of Engineering and Information Technology, Shiroda, in the presence of the Minister for Water Resources Department and Chairman of Shivgram Education Society Subhash Shirodkar at Shiroda last evening.
Stressing on Developmental growth in various sectors in the State, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant, while addressing the gathering, mentioned that Goa has witnessed all-round development in many Sectors and added saying that once the recently inaugurated Manohar International airport at Mopa Goa is fully operational, it will emerge as one of the best Destination. He further informed that Goa Government has undertaken the work of establishing and developing an Electronics Manufacturing City at Tuem.
Further speaking Chief Minister highlighted the various initiatives taken by the Government in the education sector and said that decisive steps are being initiated in the direction of accomplishing the goal of making Goa an education Hub. the IT department has taken several initiatives to create the startups and innovation hub in Goa he added.
It has been the constant endeavour of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, to provide quality education to every citizen of the Country, For the first time in t history PM created the Skill Development Ministry in the Country,and now Under the Skill Development Ministry, the Finishing School concept has started in many States and Goa will also introduce the Finishing School concept soon he informed
He further informed that the Goa Government has taken innovative steps in all sectors. Recently the Goa Government has introduced four new policies, which include a new tourism policy, a new startup policy, a new IT policy and a new industrial policy. He said and added saying that our Government is open for anyone to give their suggestions on any policy. The Government, he said, will always welcome positive ideas and suggestions to upgrade and strengthen the progress and development in Goa.
He also urged the Alumni of the Engineering college and those who are working in multiple sectors across the World to contribute to enhancing Goa’s image globally and also for the development of Goa in all sectors of human endeavour.
Chief Minister also appreciated WRD Minister Subhash Shirodkar for starting RIT in Goa. He said in the year 2001 there were hardly 3 engineering institutions in Goa, and it was very difficult for the students to go outside the State and seek admission. He said anyone can think about setting up of industries, but very few people think about starting educational institutions. It’s a happy augury to see that the initiative taken by Subhash Shirodkar in Starting RIT in Goa has benefited many students. He expressed happiness to note that Students who passed out from this Institute are working in various sectors across the World.
Shri Nitin Kunkolienkar, President of Emeritus, MAIT, Delhi, also spoke on occasion.
WRD Minister Subhash Shirodkar, in his address, congratulated all the alumni for achieving success in their Careers and said that we, together, will have to take Goa State to greater heights. He said it’s my personal opinion that as many as
2 to 3 thousand students should pass out from Engineering Sector every year
