PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that remedial classes should be compulsorily held in all government-aided schools for all weak students.
“I am saying again that remedial classes must be held and made mandatory for weak students. Those schools not holding classes will take strict action, or their grants may be stopped,” said CM Sawant after the Teachers Day function.
He further said that a new system under Vidhya Samiksha Kendra will be in place, which collects data sets annually and analyzes them meaningfully using big data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance overall learning outcomes for students.
“The Kendra helps track daily online attendance of teachers and students, undertake centralized summative and periodic assessments of learning outcome of students etc.,” he added.
He said that Students of VI to VIII in 435 Government and Aided schools are undergoing training in Coding and Robotics.
“Government Of Goa to introduce advanced Coding and Robotics course in 2022-23 for select students, 2 hours per week training,” he informed.
Meanwhile, Six meritorious teachers were awarded the State Award for their exemplary work in the education field.
“Teachers have good enough salaries; they should stop working second jobs as LIC agents and contractors and focus more on teaching,” said Sawant.
Sawant said that no teacher who goes to politicians to be recommended for state teachers award will be entertained.
