CANACONA: In response to Prime Minister’s appeal , students in Canacona has begun a Cleanliness drive on Saturday morning at Chaudi.
Higher Secondary students of atleast two higher Secondary school were seen lifting up plastics and others wastes strewn around the Chaudi town. Moving around the various parts of the commercial Chaudi town gloves sporting boys & girls students of Govt Higher Secondary School and St. Thereza of Jesus Hr. Secondary School, Chaudi collected over 8 bags of wastes of different nature, and later assembled with the collection at KTC bus-Stand.
Also CMC Chairperson Ramakant Naik Gaunkar joined by some concerned citizens were also seen picking up waste strewn on roadside and corners.
Stating Swachh Bharat is a shared responsibility, and every effort counts, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the citizens to come together for a pivotal cleanliness initiative, ‘Shramdaan’, calling upon people across the country to take part in a cleanliness drive on October 1
