PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today has warned public against failure to verify tenants while stating that strict action will be initiated against house owners.
“People who fail to furnish details of tenants will have to pay Rs 10k fine; I still urge people to willingly visit police station & comply with tenant verification process within next 3-4 days; failure to comply will attract strict action,” said Sawant
He further said that if someone is found staying in a house without verification, the house owner will have to pay a fine of Rs 10,000.
“It has been made compulsory. Therefore, house owners must fill out tenant verification forms and submit them to the respective police stations.” he said
The CM stated that contractors of industrial units will also need to be registered with the Labour Department, and if they fail to do so, they will not be allowed to work in the state.
“The contractors will have to provide a list of workers to the concerned police station. It has been observed that migrants are involved in most crimes,” he said.
