SANKHALI: Several dogs were found dead under suspicious circumstances in the Housing Board area of Sankhali, raising concern among local residents.
Following the incident, residents contacted North Goa DSPCA officer Hanumant Gawas and informed him about the deaths. A complaint was subsequently filed at the Bicholim Police Station, while post-mortems of the deceased dogs were conducted, Gawas said.
The exact cause of death is yet to be established. Authorities are examining whether the dogs died due to poisoning, were deliberately fed toxic substances, or consumed some other harmful material.
The post-mortem and other necessary examination reports are expected to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
The incident has sparked concern among residents, particularly as multiple dogs were found dead in the same locality. Further action is expected to be taken based on the findings of the reports.
