Davorlim: The South Western Railway has said it will take appropriate action against
the locals who according to them abused the workers at Davorlim.
In a statement issued here, SWR said 22 of Contract workers were doing work on Railway formation Near Davorlim Village today morning.
“At around 10 am, around 20 people arrived at work site and forced the workers to remove rails kept on formation for length of 500 m,” the SWR release said.
The statement further said the said people have not only intimidated but abused the workers and taken away 10 nos of iscrow bars from latter and also split approx.40 cans of paint.
“On getting information around 11.20, local police reached the site. The said people
have disbursed after DSP too reached the site. As the workers doing work in Railway land have been obstructed from doing their work and also their tools have been taken away, Railway is planning to take appropriate action against people involved,” the statement says.
