PANAJI: Days after stating that he would not continue with his construction in Goa, Tarun Tahiliani has issued a statement that he has been lawfully granted all licenses and permissions by various Governmental as well as local authorities for the construction of his residential house.
Following are the details of his licences:
a. Technical Sanction bearing Ref. No. TPBZ/3208/SDM/TCP-2023/749 dated 03.02.2023 issued by the Office of the Senior Town Planner, Mapusa, Bardez, Goa;
b. Construction License bearing Ref. No. VP/Pom-Ola/Permission/2023-24/324/2 dated 16.06.2023 issued by the Village Panchayat of Pomburpa – Olaulim; and;
c. No objection from the Directorate of Health Services bearing Ref. No. DHS/2023/DHS0901/00031/290 dated 23.02.2023;
d. Conversion Sanad bearing Ref. No. CAD3BAR03-23-174/894 dated 13.06.2023 issued by the Additional Collector – III, North Goa at Mapusa, Goa;
e. Permission to fell trees bearing Ref. No. 01/DCFN/PJM-96/2023-24/426 dated 07.07.2023 issued by the Office of the Deputy Conservator of Forests, North Goa Division, Ponda, Goa.
Tahiliani says after being unsuccessful in establishing their false narrative that the construction of the residential house did not align with the permissions granted, that the property was a forest and that there was hill cutting, all of which was examined and negated by the concerned Government agencies, the complainants approached the High Court of Bombay at Goa.
The Hon’ble High Court vide its Orders dated 12.12.2023 and 20.12.2023 had declined the request to grant an ad interim stay of the construction.
“The complainants have premised their objections on the plea the construction of the residential house under the Regional Plan 2001 could not have been granted as the Regional Plan 2021 had been published on 20.10.2011. However, it is a matter of public record that the Regional Plan 2021 was open for objections from the public up to 20.12.2011 and thereafter kept on hold/ in abeyance by vide Directions dated 09.04.2012 and Order dated 04.06.2012 issued by the Government of Goa,” he says.
Further, the High Court will be rendering its findings on these rival contentions after considering the responses from the Town & Country Planning Department as well as Tarun Tahiliani, for which the Court has fixed the next date of hearing on 20.02.2024.
On 17.01.2024, Mr. Tarun Tahiliani demonstrating his bona fides, made a statement before the High Court that he would not proceed with any further construction until 20.02.2024. The High Court has accepted this statement.
