CANACONA: Sports & Youth Affairs, Art & Culture and Tribal Affairs Minister Ramesh Tawadkar on Saturday hit back at his critics, saying that only those who are “blindfolded” or unwilling to acknowledge reality cannot see the development taking place in Canacona under his Vision and Mission-2030 initiative.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the ₹6.5 crore Loliem village beautification project, Tawadkar said his government has undertaken large-scale infrastructure works across the constituency.
The Minister stated that development projects worth around ₹220 crore are being implemented in Loliem-Polem, Agonda and the Canacona Municipal area, including underground electricity cabling, installation of transformers and other power infrastructure.
Highlighting the progress in Loliem, Tawadkar said 100 per cent of the underground electricity cabling work has been completed at a cost of ₹37 crore. He remarked that since the cables have been laid underground, they are not visible, and this may be why some critics continue to claim that no development has taken place.
Tawadkar asserted that the government remains committed to improving infrastructure and public amenities across Canacona, adding that the ongoing projects are aimed at transforming the constituency under the Vision and Mission-2030 development plan.
