CALANGUTE: A 19-year-old youth from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, was rescued from drowning off Calangute beach after being caught in a rip current and swept into deeper waters by a large wave.
According to information, the युवक was in knee-deep water when a strong wave knocked him off balance and a rip current dragged him further into the sea. Noticing the emergency, off-duty Drishti Marine lifesavers Subham Mukhiya, Chhirap Mistry, and Soma Latye immediately rushed to his aid.
Using rescue tubes, the lifesavers reached the victim and safely brought him back to shore, preventing what could have been a tragedy.
The timely intervention of the off-duty lifesavers ensured that the tourist was rescued safely without any loss of life.
