PONDA: Ponda Police have registered a case against ten accused persons, including one unidentified individual, following allegations of criminal trespass, vandalism, theft, assault, and criminal intimidation at a property in Mankem village, Shiroda.
According to the complaint filed by Franky Fernandes, a resident of Parvem, Agonda, Canacona, the incident allegedly occurred on June 22, 2024, at Survey No. 870/8, Mankem Village, Shiroda, Ponda.
The complainant alleged that the accused—Constantino Pereira, Salvacao Fernandes, Rosario Fernandes, Cecilia Colaco, Agustinho D’Costa, Margarita Dias, Rosa Maria Costa, Stephen D’Costa, Reshma Luisa Fernandes, and one unknown person, all residents of Mankem, Shiroda—formed an unlawful assembly and, acting with a common object, criminally trespassed onto his property.
It is alleged that, at the instigation of the unidentified accused, the group damaged a CCTV pole and camera installed on the property by throwing it to the ground. The complainant further alleged that the accused stole the SIM card and memory card from the CCTV camera.
The complaint also states that the accused allegedly threw stones at him with the intention of causing grievous hurt, while the unidentified accused allegedly threatened to kill him, amounting to criminal intimidation.
Ponda Police have registered the case and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Prajyot Bakhale of Ponda Police Station.
